Southern Haunts – “Juan, tell us a little about Altered Flesh FX.”

AFFX – “As a start, I would like to introduce the faces behind the AFFX logo, Juan Garcia and Xavier Garcia. Two brothers with one vision and the love to create the nightmares people dream about. Altered Flesh FX started two seasons ago and has been very grateful for the opportunity the haunt industry has provided. We are located in Eastern Pennsylvania.”

Southern Haunts – “How did AFFX get its start, what are your backgrounds?”

AFFX – “Affx got started by purchasing a silicone mask and we instantly loved everything about it. We loved the look, the feel and the ease of getting a look of hours of make up in a matter of seconds. As a child all I wanted to draw were monsters, I have always been doing art, I am a tattoo artist, I also paint portraits, and airbrush vehicles. Not all of my art is scary, I love painting wildlife, people and the occasional still life. You can see some of my art at www.martinez-garciaart.com”

Southern Haunts – “What type of products do you offer the haunt industry?”

AFFX – “We offer silicone masks, silicone props and just about anything anyone requests. Our silicone mask line includes: zombies, clowns, devils, orcs, vampires, werewolves, and frank-n-pieces.”

Southern Haunts –“What can you tell the industry about your groundbreaking new silicone hybrid mask? Southern Haunts had a sneak peak at Transworld, how much are you willing to talk about that, or is that still top secret right now?”

AFFX – “We are working on a new silicone hybrid mask line, coming out soon. The hybrid line is actually being developed for a haunt exclusively this year. So it will be tested in a working haunt this season and by Transworld 2012 it will be ready and tested.”

Southern Haunts – “What about custom work, what services does AFFX offer?”

AFFX – “We offer hand punched hair work for any of our masks, if anyone wanted to customize their mask and bring an even more realistic feel to the product.Custom work is always welcome so if you have an idea and you want to have us create it for you, just drop us a line and we will help your nightmares come to life.”
